Cyclone Idai Deliverance Testimony
By Mrs. Chipo Magumo
On Friday the 15th of March in the evening around 8:30 pm there were 15 of us in our house. Our family of 6 which consists of my husband Justice, our two children Chiedza (12) and Blessing (8) (who we call Young Overseer) and my two young teenage sisters (Nomsa and Ashley Matimba) were joined by another family of six and a friend who had come for fellowship with her two children.
After supper we had our daily Bible Study, as we were praying we felt the house shaking and like we were moving. Muddy flood waters entered the house followed by big rocks, which pounded the house, and more rain and flood water. We kept on praying and speaking the Blood of Jesus Christ to protect and deliver us. Young Overseer was calling upon the hand of the Lord which had been preached by the Reverend Andrew Wutawunashe from 1 Kings 18:46. He came near me and told me that we were going to see the Hand of the Lord just as the door was no longer opening because of the rocks outside; trapping us inside as the flood waters rose to our waists.
All our neighbours’ houses were taken and our house was left in the middle. For sure we then saw the hand of the Lord, for the rocks passed our door and we were able to all escape from the house. Outside my daughter fell down a damaged pit toilet, as she was drowning I managed to pull her out and we all escaped.
The big lesson I learned in my life, Overseer, is that we must not be proud and refuse those who ask. I should be angry when people ask to put meat in our fridge. The refrigerator went with the flood along with the meat and the stove!
Furthermore when we are at camp we must obey when Reverend Andrew Wutawunashe asks us to stand and surely we must not sit down. I was one of those who used to sit but on that day of trouble I was standing from 9 pm up to sunrise.
I thank God who delivered us from the snare of the fouler. May God be praised forever.
